Michael J. Greer
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Greer has served as our Chief Executive Officer since co-founding Waveland in 2000. Michael has over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry and his experience in the oil and gas industry dates back to 1987. He previously served as president of Energy Partners, Inc., a company he founded in 1989 to manage partnership syndications and was later acquired by NASDAQ-listed Benton Oil and Gas Company. Under Mr. Greer’s leadership, Waveland has acquired, developed, and sold several projects, including a 35,000 acreage position in southeastern Oklahoma to Chesapeake Energy, 120,000 acres in south-central Kansas to Royal Dutch Shell Corporation and several other projects to independent oil and gas companies. In addition, through a joint venture with a global private equity firm, Waveland’s private equity funds are the second-largest equity owner of 350,000 acres in the oil window of the San Juan Basin in New Mexico. Waveland’s Funds have also amassed over 20,000 working interest acres and 4,000 mineral acres in the core of Bakken Shale in North Dakota.
Mr. Greer is a licensed General Securities Principal and serves as CEO of Waveland Capital Partners LLC, a FINRA-licensed broker-dealer.
Vickie J. Greer
Chief Operating Officer
As Waveland’s co-founder, Vickie Greer has served as Chief Operating Officer since our inception. Vickie has over 35 years of experience in investment syndication, operations, administration, legal services, and investor and broker-dealer relations. While at Waveland, Vickie has been instrumental in creating our proprietary platform to process and report investments, facilitate broker and investor relations, and comply with corporate and securities law. Before her career in the financial services and investment industry, Vickie received her paralegal certification from the University of Texas at El Paso and spent many years as a paralegal with law firms in Irvine, California, and El Paso, Texas.
Sam Irvani
Executive Vice President
Mr. Irvani joined Waveland in 2010 and has over 25 years of private equity, investment banking and corporate finance experience. Prior to joining Waveland, Sam held the position of Manager, Revenue Finance and M&A at Western Digital Corporation (NYSE: WDC) where he was primarily responsible for revenue and gross margin management of Western Digital’s $2.5B global enterprise distribution business channel. In addition to revenue management, Sam supported executive management in M&A evaluation and strategic corporate development initiatives including multinational acquisition targets. Before Western Digital, Sam served as Vice President at Citigroup Global Markets where he provided M&A and corporate finance advisory services to middle market clients throughout the United States and Canada. Sam’s finance career began in treasury and financial analysis functions at the Ford Motor Company and the Bank of Montreal Financial Group in Toronto, Canada. Mr. Irvani received a BS in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Toronto and an MBA in Finance from McMaster University in Canada. In addition, Sam holds FINRA Series 7, 27, 28, 79 and 63 registrations, and has also serves as director on the boards of [several] Waveland investments.
Scott Dinh
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Dinh has served as Waveland’s Chief Financial Officer since 2015 and as Controller since 2007. Scott is a Certified Public Accountant with over 25 years of experience in finance across various industries, including oil & gas, manufacturing & distribution. Prior to joining Waveland, from 2006 to 2007, Mr. Dinh served as Chief Financial Officer for Cabinetec, Inc., a leading cabinet manufacturing company. From 1999 to 2005, Scott served as Controller of U.S. Filter Recovery Services, a manufacturer and distributor of wastewater filtering systems. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1999, Mr. Dinh served as Assistant Controller for Grant Geophysical, a $150M oil services corporation. Before Grant Geophysical, from 1993 to 1996, Mr. Dinh was the Financial Reporting Supervisor at Air Liquide of America, a multibillion dollar international company. From 1990 to 1993, Scott served as Accounting Manager for Kenfil Distribution, a $200M publicly-traded consumer software distributing company. Mr. Dinh began his career in 1989 as an auditor at Arthur Young & Co (Big 8 accounting firm).
Mr. Dinh’s core expertise includes optimizing cash flow, improving profit, building processes and infrastructure to facilitate growth, managing operations and financial planning. Scott earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Texas.
Trisha Prince
Chief Compliance Officer
Trisha joined Waveland in 2019 and has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry predominately focusing on broker-dealer and investment adviser compliance requirements. Prior to joining Waveland, for three years Trisha held the position of Chief Compliance Officer at a Dallas-based broker-dealer, and from 2012 to 2017 was the Risk Officer for Credit Suisse Private Bank in Houston, Texas. In these roles, Trisha was responsible for the development and implementation of the compliance program and regulatory regime to comply with federal, state and FINRA regulations, including written supervisory procedures, manuals and processes, business continuity and continuing education programs. Trisha also conducted compliance audits of the firms’ independent registered representatives, sponsored process simplification and effectiveness, developed and administered staff compliance training, and enhanced firm-wide compliance programs across all areas. Trisha holds the series 7, 24, 63, 65, 9, 10 and 3 industry licenses.
Douglas J. Jacobson
Senior Advisor
Prior to joining Waveland in 2018, Mr. Jacobson, served as CO-CEO of Primary Natural Resources IV, LLC and CEO of Whisper Rock Resources, LLC. Prior to serving with those two private E&P companies, Mr. Jacobson served 16 years with Chesapeake Energy Corporation, before retiring in July 2015. His position at Chesapeake upon retirement was Executive Vice President – Acquisitions & Divestitures. During Doug’s career at Chesapeake, he negotiated and/or managed the consummation of over 8,500 acquisition and divestiture transactions exceeding $70 billion in value in the aggregate. Prior to joining Chesapeake, Doug was employed by Samson Investment Company. He was serving as Senior Vice President, Project Development and Marketing at the time of his departure from Samson and in that capacity, he managed Samson’s acquisition and divestiture efforts. Prior to joining Samson, Doug was employed as an auditor with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. Mr. Jacobson has served on various Oklahoma legislative commissions, including the Commission of Oil and Gas Production Practices and the Natural Gas Policy Commission. He is a certified public accountant and graduated from John Brown University with a B.S.B.A. and from the University of Arkansas with a M.S.A.
John Naslund, CFP®, CLU
Senior Vice President, National Sales Director
John Naslund began his career in the financial services industry in 1975 and joined Waveland in 2002. During his career, John has been retained by several major world-wide financial institutions as a variable product and planning specialist, providing expertise and assistance to national securities firms and representatives servicing highly accredited clientele. John was conferred the designation of CFP® by the College of Financial Planning in Denver. He is a licensed General Securities and Municipal Securities Principal with FINRA. He has been conferred the Chartered Life Underwriter designation by the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Jamie Harmon, CFP®
Senior Vice President, East Region
Jamie Harmon is Senior Vice President, East Region. Jamie heads up our sales efforts in the eastern United States. Jamie is an accomplished financial wholesaler with a successful track record and has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Jamie earned his BS and MBA from the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts Amherst. He began his professional career in 1999 working within the Independent Broker Dealer industry and earned his CFP® designation in 2008. His previous experiences enable him to relate to financial professionals to develop and deploy solutions that work in the real world. Jamie is in our East Coast office on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Jamie holds FINRA Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses.
William A. Rack, Jr.
Senior Vice President
William A. Rack, Jr. joined Waveland as Senior Vice President in 2021. Bill has been in the capital markets industry for over 30 years. Prior to joining Waveland, he was the Co-Founder and Executive Vice President of ArciTerra Group, LLC and the President of ArciTerra Capital, LLC. While at ArciTerra, Bill created and fully funded 22 private placement offerings totaling over $150 million in equity. Before ArciTerra, Bill worked for the Cole companies from January 2000 to March 2005. During his tenure at Cole, Bill was involved in the creation and funding of more than 20 private placement offerings totaling over $335 million in equity. Prior to joining Cole, Bill worked with Laeroc Partners, Inc., a Los Angeles-based real estate syndicator. Bill received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of the Pacific with majors in Finance and Marketing and holds FINRA Series 22 and 63 registrations.
Colten “Colt” Munchoff
Vice President, Business Development
Colt Munchoff joined Waveland in 2021 as Vice President. Colt has worked in the financial services industry for over 25 years in all facets of business development – from dealer relations within the Independent Broker-Dealer and RIA channels to sales management and distribution. Past positions include serving as Associate Vice President for Steadfast companies from March 2018 to August 2021, responsible for business development, and 12 years wholesaling annuities as Regional Vice President at Met Life Investors. Colt has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including top sales awards, management recognition, and keynote speaker at several conferences and events. Colt devotes his free time to his two daughters and serves as a role model to patients suffering from head trauma. Colt sustained a closed head injury at 23 and could not walk or talk for months after the accident. He has been inspiring people with his story of hope and recovery for more than 20 years as a motivational speaker and through teaching the physically challenged the art of cooking. Colt studied marketing and communications at the University of Arizona and holds FINRA Series 7 registration.
